PDA SoCal Symposium Recap
We had a great time at the PDA SoCal Data Integrity and Security Symposium last Thursday, April 28th! About 80 participants from all over Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego counties gathered at the Hilton Irvine/Orange County Airport in Irvine, California to learn more about how data integrity can have an effect on business models, products, and services.
The symposium opened with an update on the PDA Data Integrity Task Force from Bob Buhlmann, Director of Corporate Quality Assurance at Amgen, Inc., and a member of the Task Force. The Task Force is currently working on enhancing the Code of Conduct. You can learn more about the PDA Task Force’s Code of Conduct here.
SQA’s Executive Vice President, Gerard Pearce, gave participants a brief presentation introducing SQA Services, Inc. and our services. He encouraged participants to come meet our team, and to follow our social media channels, and then the first sessions began. Participants could choose between two different tracks, including topics such as:
- Network Security Gaps and its Impact on Your Data, led by Azzur Group
- Data Integrity Auditing Requirements and Lessons Learned, led by Pharma Bio-Serv
- Data Integrity Issues: Past to Present and PDA Data Integrity, led by Paraxel
Gerard’s favorite takeaway from the USDM Life Sciences presentation on Maintaining InfoSec, Data Integrity, and Compliance with your Cloud Partners was that “data has no integrity. People have integrity, and apply that integrity to the data.”
The SQA team had a great time meeting everyone throughout the day. We especially loved seeing our associate, Laurel Hacche. In addition to being a member of the SQA team, Laurel is also the PDA SoCal Vice President of Programs.
We hope those of you who attended the symposium had as wonderful a time as we did! If you didn’t have a chance to meet us, it’s not too late to say hello! Reach out to us on social media, or get in touch with our team here to learn more about what SQA can do for you.
